1. Deep Turbo
Located in the northern part of Gili Trawangan, the beautiful view of this spot is at a depth of 20 to 30 meters, requiring you at least to have an advanced open water certificate. In addition to the coral that is still beautiful, in this spot also often found baracuda fish, tuna, stingray, tiggerfish, and also snapper, suitable for you who love underwater photography.
2. Shark Point
For those who want to challenge your guts, stimulate adrenaline, and know a little more about sharks, this dive spot you must dive into. At a depth of 10 to 20 meters, you will be greeted with colorful coral reefs which are also decorated with hordes of black and humpbacked snapper fish. Then, at a depth of 35 meters, besides blackfin sharks and whitefin sharks, there are also green turtles, ribbon eels, octopus, even scorpion fish that are ready to welcome you with their charm.
3. Japanese Wreck
Here it is, a heavyweight challenge. Located on a protected beach, west of Lombok, to enjoy the beauty of a second world war ship, you certainly have to be careful diving into it. At a minimum, you must have an Enriched Air Diver certificate, because to reach the wreck of the Japanese ship itself, you have to dive about 40 meters. 4. Simon’s Reef
Again, one of the coral reef paradise in Lombok. Located in the northern part of Gili Air, this spot offers various types of beautiful corals that are still very well preserved. Star corals, plate corals, and anemones which are home to nemo fish are small examples of marine ecosystems there. Large hordes of snapper fish and sweet lips are also often seen. In fact, it is not uncommon for divers to see giant sized baracuda. With an average depth of 25 meters, you must have an advanced open water certificate to be able to see the wealth of marine life on Simon’s Reef.
5. Hans Reef
Its calm currents and clear water that expand visibility are among the reasons this spot is worth a try. Just like Simon’s Reef, the Hans Reef spot is also located in the northern part of Gili Air. The difference is that the average depth at this spot is only 14 meters, and the maximum is 24 meters. Even so, Hans Reef is no less beautiful than Simon’s Reef. In these spots, there are many fish that are usually found at a depth of more than 20 meters, such as scorpion fish, batfish, angle fish, seahorses, mantis shrimp, pipe fish, even black spots moray. Not only that, Hans Reef is also often claimed to be a favorite spot for underwater photographers in Lombok.
